Inspired by African slaves it embraces the ethnic diversity that is Brazilian cuisine today. Brazil’s culinary mixtures are credited to cultures such as, Portuguese, Indians, Africans, Japanese, Italians, Lebanese and Germans. By understanding and appreciating the colorful past of this melting pot nation, one can comprehend why Brazil’s cuisine is so diverse.
